Meet April Vanderveen, Counseling Intern

Meet April

I believe that true transformation occurs when we courageously engage our story. Peace and fulfillment can come when we authentically engage our mind, body, and spirit. Restoration and healing can take place when we are willing to be honest about our past, and work through our pain and struggles in order to bring about change. Using family systems and attachment theory, we will discover the patterns, behaviors and challenges in your story that can be rewritten. Whether you are struggling with relational concerns or other life challenges, my desire is to help create a hopeful and empathetic environment where trust is an integral part of the process.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm147:3

I have been married for 18 years, have four children, and celebrate time outdoors, reading, learning new things, and friendships. Serving in the local church for the past 15 years, I have worked with individuals and marriages in all seasons of life.

Professional Credentials:

I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in Communication, and I am currently working towards a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwest University. As a student intern, I am grateful to be part of the amazing team at Cedar Park Counseling Network.
